In 2015, Costco began negotiations with Cargill, IDH, and Winrock to reduce GHG emissions and increase market access for smallholders by developing a comprehensive draft Smallholder Protocol for Sustainably Managing Peat Areas and Responsible Re-planting of Oil Palm.
